pilot projects

Remote Roots is a Zurich-based non-profit association founded in July 2025.

Our goal is to reduce social and economic inequalities for young people from structurally disadvantaged regions and to create opportunities for education, employment, and participation in society. We rely on innovative and connecting approaches to promote integration and equal opportunities in a sustainable way.

Currently, we are planning to implement 2 pilot projects in 2026 including a remote internship initiative that provides Lebanese students with remote work experience in collaboration with Swiss companies, and a mentorship programme supporting young newcomers in Zurich through tandems based on common interests.

Remote Internships for Lebanese Students

This initiative matches university students in Lebanon with companies in Switzerland offering remote internships. Students gain valuable professional experience and international exposure, while companies benefit from motivated young talent and fresh perspectives.

Mentorship Programme

Our mentorship programme connects recently arrived young people in Zurich with volunteer mentors who share common interests or passions. Through regular meet-ups, tandems make settling into a new city feel easier and more familiar.
